MySQL database setup has two major steps. First, install MySQL using homebrew. Second, install a database management tool (aka. a nice-looking GUI) to display database records.
So which database management tool?
I installed Sequel Pro, a popular database management application for Mac, and initially couldn’t get it to sync up with MySQL. When I got it to sync up, Sequel Pro kept throwing errors. After researching I found that Sequel Pro only works up until [email protected], and I was using [email protected] Then, I installed several MySQL database management apps from the Mac Store and found Valentina Studio to be the best.
